JOB SUMMARY

Safe delivery of Operating Room Care. RN is responsible for circulating through operating rooms, pre op and recovery area as well as some clinic responsibilities as needed. Provides patient-centered care. Demonstrates effective communication, consultation, and collaboration skills with members of the team. Acts as patient advocate and maintains privacy and confidentiality of all appropriate information PRINCIPAL

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Assesses work area readiness, supplies and equipment readiness for a variety of procedures. Manages patient safety by implementing perioperative polices and procedures. Takes action to correct deficiencies. Pleasant personality, able to answer patient questions and ease patient concerns patiently and thoroughly with a luxury experience in mind. Practice clear and continuous communication with the doctor and staff on all patients daily. Participates in rotational phone on-call schedule.

SCOPE OF CARE

The services provided are for outpatient care. We run 2 operating rooms, simultaneously in the mornings. Full time; Hours: Monday through Friday, 5:30am-2:30pm, but may vary as needed.Experience Required At least 5 years experience in the Perioperative arena, OR circulating experience a requirement.5 years experience as an RN Current RN license issued by the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred

Education & Training Minimum education requirement:

Associate’s degree from accredited school of nursing program. Preferred education: Baccalaureate degree from accredited school of nursing program. Skills Technical, clerical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to total patient care/area to safely and efficiently treat patients. Superior verbal and written communication skills necessary Writes/prints legibly to document accurately Consistently demonstrates a pleasant, helpful and compassionate demeanor in a fast passed atmosphere.
